New 7″ Split Single with Council Tax Band

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013

Ice, Sea, Dead People - Photo by Sara Amroussi-Gilissen

Yes! Two stupidly named Bedford bands unite to release a split 7″ single! Our side contains a couple of tracks ‘Accept the Mystery’ and a new song I’ll post about separately.

For those who haven’t heard Council Tax Band before, they contain ex-Das Wanderlust members and rule with synth and spite. We invited them to play their first ever gig for our Bedford show on the last tour and we shall lead them down the aisle again to release this split seven inch record with them.

You can pre-order the record now from our label, Lost Toys Records for a paltry £4.

‘If It’s Broken…’ reviewed by NME & Kerrang! this week

Thursday, April 18th, 2013

Our new bloody album, ‘If It’s Broken, Break It More’, (due out on Monday April 22nd) got reviewed by NME and Kerrang this week.

We’ve also just uploaded the album to the Lost Toys Bandcamp where you can stream a new song from the album, ‘Accept the Mystery’. If you pre-order the album now you get 3 tracks from the album straight away and the rest on April 22nd.

NME dumped a big fat 8 on our noise:

Ice, Sea, Dead People - 'If It's Broken, Break It More'. NME Album Review (8/10)

We also got our first ever mention in Kerrang! magazine who gave us 3 Ks:

Ice, Sea, Dead People - 'If It's Broken, Break It More'. Kerrang! Album Review

More to come, hopefully!

Also we’ll be posting something about our tour very soon, thanks to everyone who bought merch and to the promoters for being so great (especially the Europeans!)

‘If It’s Broken, Break It More’ available to pre-order!

Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Our second album, ‘If It’s Broken, Break It More’ is available to pre-order from our label, Lost Toys.

View all the pre-order bundles here.

We’re so proud of this album, it’s the best thing we’ve ever done and we’re really grateful to all those who worked on it: Patrick Constable, Tim Cedar, Justin Saban and Stewie. The artwork features Mid Beds MP Nadine Dorries eating balls during her tenure. We used the brightest Pantone colours we could and slathered them with a super gloss finish. They look uh-mazing…

We also got some new T-shirts for our tour. The illustration is by Suzi Kemp extraordinaire who exudes “rad” in everything she does. It’s based on our original band biography which was: “Ice, Sea, Dead People = Like the Titanic meets the Sixth Sense”.

ice, sea, dead people - 'draw me like one of your french girls…' t-shirt

NEEDLESS TO SAY (but here I go) if you want to support us then help yourself and get a copy. The most direct way to buy the album is through Lost Toys, if you care about that stuff. We’re really proud of everything we do: music, album art, records, tees, music, posters, etc. all money we make goes into making more records, paying for petrol, van hire, studio time. It really helps us out.

Here’s a tracklist, we have some videos of us recording the album and maybe a track-by-track in the pipeline. Tour starts for real tomorrow! We played Bristol on Saturday and it was the most insane show we’ve played so far, more crowd-surfing and fistfights with bouncers please.

See you on the road!

We’re going to get bored so Tweet us or whatever!? Hashtag for the tour is #breakittour

P.S. Lapsus Linguae are BACK!!!

Thursday, February 28th, 2013

Hello friends, our new album ‘If It’s Broken Break It More’ is done done done and coming out on Lost Toys records on April 22nd. Below is the title track from the album, it’s quite “melodic”, apparently? We’re strangers to that word here at ISDP so we’re not sure if that’s a good thing but rest assured the album is plenty ugly as well.

We’ll have copies of the album on tour, these are the dates…

Pre-Order: ‘You Could Be A Model’ / ‘Ultra Silence’ 7″ Picture Disc

Monday, September 17th, 2012

This pink background will make no sense on Google Images

The pre-order for our new 7″, a picture disc collaboration with Daniel Eatock & Andy Holden, is now live at the Lost Toys Records shop.

We’re incredibly proud of the 2 songs, ‘You Could Be A Model’ and ‘Ultra Silence’ on this 7″ as well as the project with Daniel Eatock which has resulted in these amazing records.

Every side of every record features a unique spiral drawing, created by spinning the paper on a turntable (the very thing the records will spin on to play the music). 180 records exist, that’s 360 drawings. 360. Circles. Spinning. Are you getting it? Side A features a free-form spiral, the double a-side features a dense single-line spiral. The amount of ink on the drawings relates to how long the song is.

Picture discs for sale at Wysing

Pre-orders will be despatched ahead of release date: October 8th.
