In this week's NME
25 Jun 2009

Everyone's talking about: Ice, Sea, Dead People. Throw away your ear plugs. These phenomenal noise monsters from London take their aggresive lead from the likes of Fugazi, Les Savy Fav and the angriest person you are ever likely to meet in this world. Angular feist-punk doesn't get more brutal or entralling than this, folks.

Cheers go to Ash Dosanjh.

Dead People feature on new Foot Village album!
05 May 2009

Your favourite type of dead people (the iced ones that reside in the sea) feature on the new Foot Village album with about 40 other RADICAL bands (AIDS Wolf, T.I.T.S., Bitches, Death Sentence:PANDA, Kyle H Mabson, Tussle, Anavan, blah blah blah!).

Basically we had to record a song with the lyrics "We write love songs in a secret language that no-one can resist". It was a really cool project. I found it really hard to get someone else's lyrics to come out of my mouth properly and we can see how other people wrote theirs. I'm working through them but Anavan is my favourite still. You can hear/download them ALL (including ours) at the Foot Village website:

NSFW! Loads of genitals and great music: http://footvillage.org/music/anti-magic-friends

We liked our intro so much that we've re-written the song and are recording it at the blessed Fortress soon for THE ALBUM.

bearded magazine gig interview
01 Apr 2009

okay, straight off the bat i'll admit that i always try and get a bit drunk before we play and this usually works in my favour, performance-wise. or so i think. but it does backfire when you do interviews... and stuff. fortunately through the power of editing i come across okay in this one, but i do conclude every sentence with the words "and stuff":

we also got interviewed, post-93 feet east recently by a french girl who writes for a brilliantly-titled blog, 'mdmazing'. anyway, i tried to read what she wrote but google translator lets me down. eddoux can read french really well, i should borrow him... anyway, check this out:

"I know I say this often, but there really is worse qu'hilarant, just the Lovvers, in fact, one group which would be full of interviews, but it's not lke case, then once they have one, they tell something perfectly useless for hours, if you add alcohol to the above, it really really good. "

hmmm... well, i remember talking for about 4 minutes about our band name and eddoux telling me to shut up.

New song 'Brrrrr', on our MySpace
29 Aug 2008

Whut up.

The b-side for upcoming single, 'My Twin Brother's A Brother' is up on our MySpace. It's a noisy little thing called 'Brrrrr' and is actually the longest song we've recorded to date!

Like our other recordings, this was done at Fortress Studios with the Tom Morris who I've already gushed about on here before. There's an amazing piano in that studio that features on the track. Enjoy.

Also, Offset Festival is tomorrow!

recording!
30 Jul 2008

i thought this was news worthy. we recorded a few tracks at fortress studios in london earlier this week with the god-like tom morris. his endless enthusiasm, his heart-lifting smile, his masterful control of the studio... what a man!

naturally, under his wing, the tracks sound really fucking good so far. we're going in again on friday to mix and then we're going to get the ball rolling on our next release.

grasp the candle.

18th July gig in Luton
06 Jul 2008

I'll try not to make a habit out of writing stuff about upcoming gigs BUTTTT seriously: holy shit! We're playing with Kill Kenada, finally! They're good friends of ours and a big inspiration to us so I'm glad we can finally play together.

Also, Calories (containing ex-Distophia members) are playing. Their songs sound great and I never managed to see Distophia when they were kicking about (I hope their album 'Beat Dyslexia' gets some sort of release, posthumously).

Best of all it's free, it's being promoted by ('Ginger') John (aka 'Buyyourself') and Robin made the flyer:

New website!
29 Jun 2008

So after breaking the last website, I thought I'd make a new one. I was drinking a strawberry milkshake when I came up with the colour scheme.

Expect lots of great stuff on here so we can prove, once and for all, that REAL band websites are better than m*****e pages!

Oh and we've booked time in the studio for the end of July, so expect new songs and stuff soon!
